We were thrilled to welcome 22 Canterbury businesses to the greens for the inaugural Westpac Rescue Helicopter Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, 21 March, and what a day it was!
With Miles Toyota and Express Cargo putting up a brand-new car for the first hole-in-one, we knew we had a winning formula. Before tee-off, players enjoyed ANZCO Angel Bay burgers while witnessing a spectacular precision landing by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter right on the green, a memorable moment for all.
Throughout the day, players demonstrated incredible generosity by purchasing raffle tickets and bidding on auction items, all while enjoying a round of golf in support of a lifesaving cause. Back at the clubhouse, the smooth sounds of Lee Martin set the tone for a relaxing and celebratory close to the event.
A huge thank you to our Westpac volunteers and Christchurch Casino, whose support was instrumental in the day’s success. Together, we raised more than $26,000 to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, a result we’re incredibly proud of.
And the best news? We’re already looking ahead, the date has been set for 2026, so mark your calendars for Friday, 20 March! You could be the next name on the trophy, following this year’s champions, the Toyota Finance team.
