West Coast ROA Rescue Helicopter Mission Update

download
The crew continue to ready to respond 24/7 through COVID-19 and as we transition into Level 2. The crews have been tasked to jobs throughout this pandemic and will continue to be a lifeline to those in need during this difficult time in our community.
The crew have flown to a variety of locations over the past few months including: Buller Medical Centre, Kopara, Kokatahi, Granity and Franz Josef.
Some of the emergency service call outs the crew have responded to include: cardiac arrest, STEMI, and a stroke. The crew responded to 4 accident related EMS in the month of April including a patient who fell from a great height and sustained pelvic injuries, and a patient who fell from a bicycle and sustained shoulder injuries.
Thank you to ROA Mining our naming rights sponsor on the West Coast, to Electronet, Mitre 10 (Greymouth and Westport), the Ashley Hotel, the Freemasons, Rapid Relief, Westfleet and to Westpac for the extra chopper appeal support. Thank you also to all of our donors across the West Coast- our funding has been impacted due to Covid-19 with reduced grants and event funding so we thank you for being there for this life saving service.
