Everyone knows Coasters are a tough bunch, but their generosity when it comes to their close knit community knows no bounds. The Westport Phoenix Masonic Lodge lived this recently by gifting $40,000 in support of the locally based ROA Mining Rescue Helicopter Service. The lodge choose to gift these funds onwards after receiving payment for hosting the DHB to support local Covid health initiatives. Thank you Phoenix Masonic Lodge for being so community spirited.

Whilst it’s always rough to see local community groups like the Greymouth Workingmen’s Club closure, we were immensely grateful to be gifted $19,250 from the final financial wash up on the club. These funds help make a vital difference in support of the ROA Mining Rescue Helicopter Service, as both clubs donations fund another 12 life saving rescue missions for the local community during winter, our busiest time of year.
