We had a fantastic day today welcoming over 60 donors and friends into the hangar to see the helicopters up close.
Our crew of paramedics Joy, Libby and Steve explained how the helicopters get tasked to jobs, what happens when a call comes in, their roles on the helicopter and how they reach the patient in different types of job.
Trust representative, Rachael, talked about the new developments coming to the service, including the three new H145 helicopters, and what that will mean for our patients and the number of calls we’re able to attend.
Crew then showed our visitors inside the helicopters and people were able to get an idea of how restricted the space is and how skilled the crew are to perform their jobs in these tight environments.
Thank you to everyone who came along. We really appreciate your interested in the service.
