We had a fantastic time hosting some of our valued donors along with members from Business Canterbury (Formerly the Chamber of Commerce) for their “after 5” Christmas party. The evening was filled with fun and festivities.

Attendees had the opportunity to peek behind the scenes and witness the inner workings of both services. Our CEO, Christine Prince, took a moment to reflect on the highlights of 2023 and shared exciting plans for 2024 and beyond.

Guests were treated to captivating equipment demonstrations by our crew members and many also enjoyed a base tour of both the NZ Flying Doctor Service and the Canterbury West Coast Rescue Helicopter Service. These tours provided valuable insights into how their generous donations and sponsorships are used and shed light on the unique challenges our teams face.

For many it was a first introduction to the New Zealand Flying Doctor Service, offering them a deeper understanding of how it integrates into the New Zealand healthcare system.

We are grateful to all the sponsors who donated prizes for the raffle which caused a buying frenzy and raised more than $1,500 for the Trust. More than 170 guests were also treated to delicious burgers from the ultimate pop-up burger bar thanks to ANZCO, canapes from Collective Concepts and refreshments from Cassells and Giesen Wines. What a wonderful way to wind up the year!
