Springston, a small semi-rural community just 25km south of Christchurch, has a wonderful school of 240 bright, bubbly, multi-talented students from Year 1 to Year 8 and a strong ethos of supporting their local community.
The principal, Dianne Prendergast, and students recently presented a cheque to the Rescue Helicopter Trust. The students chose to support the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, many children live on farms and having a keen interest in horse riding, knowing all too well the need for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a rural community. The students completed a full year of fundraising in 2017, including sausage sizzles and other activities including a Pirate themed mufti-day!
Their support will make a life-saving difference in their community.
