Ron Towner aged 89 wants
to raise as much as he can to support the
Westpac Rescue helicopter before turning 90 on the 22nd July.
He plans to do this by walking round the block every day for at least 90 days. Ron had a stroke a couple of years ago, which has led to long term complications for movement. He also has a degenerative lung condition so walking is very hard some days.
Originally from the UK, Ron has been inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore who raised money for the NHS. Ron wants to do the same for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and give something back to the New Zealand community as he and his wife Val have loved every day they have spent in their adopted country.
Ron is inviting you to join him and help raise funds for
the Rescue Helicopter Service.
