Celebrating the Air Rescue Crew and Air Rescue Ambassadors

The Trust recently hosted a breakfast, to celebrate the festive season but also to thank the Rescue Crew and Ambassadors for their support throughout the year.
Air Rescue patients, Josie and Andrew were awarded with certificates of appreciation for their tremendous support and willingness to tell their stories. Both Andrew and Josie’s rescue stories have been used by the Trust to get the message out about the lives the air rescue crew save.
Andrew was additionally thanked for his phenomenal fundraising efforts that raised $60,000 for the Service Andrew, along with support from the Fairlie community, held an auction night to raise money for the Service.
The Ambassadors were also thanked for their contributions throughout the year. This group, led by Mark Inglis, work to spread the word about the Air Rescue Crew and the Services need for support. Ambassador and past patient, Matt plans to participate in the Tauranga Half Iron Man in 2021 and raise funds for the Service. West Coast ambassador Willie has recently organised a raffle on the West Coast, which raised thousands of dollars.
The event was a wonderful celebration and acknowledgement of all individuals that support the Trust. It is with their help, community support and donations, that we are able to keep the helicopter flying and available 24/7 to save lives in Canterbury and the West Coast.
