Open Day 2.0 is just a few days away!
Get excited! Our Air Rescue and Emergency Services Open Day is gearing up to be a huge event this weekend. On Sunday 28th October, we invite you to join the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Crew and other local Emergency Services for an action-packed day! A unique opportunity to have a look behind the scenes at the new purpose built GCH Aviation Emergency Air Centre
We have an exciting event planned, filled with activities and skills demonstrations, with a vast variety of food and drink options available. All taking place at the brand new GCH Aviation Emergency Air Centre on 73 Grays Road.
If you think you have what it takes to be a pilot, then have a go in our GCH helicopter flight simulator, or if a scenic flight is more your style grab one at just $70. Children can have some fun in the bouncy castles, pop-up playground and colouring station with face painting available too.
We want you to come and meet the people who help the people of Canterbury every day. You’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from our rescue service crew about what it takes to save a life. Whether you want to relax and watch the professionals do what they do best, or want to have a go at the exciting array of activities available, our Open Day will have something for everyone.
Look out for awesome demonstrations from these amazing rescue service teams:
- NZ Flying Doctor Service
- NZ Police (Kids speed test, Police dog display)
- St John (Vehicles on display)
- Red Cross (Response Unit Display)
- Alpine Cliff Rescue Team (Interactive zip-line/stretcher display)
- Fire and Emergency NZ (Jaws of life demonstration, Evacuation challenge, Fire bucket display)
It is a Gold Coin entry with FREE parking on-site, so you can become immersed in the emergency service experience.
Our crew can’t wait to meet everyone. Make sure you’re here this Sunday and send this invite out to anyone you think may be interested in attending.
We can’t wait to see you all soon!
