Rapid Relief Support the Air Rescue Service on the West Coast
The Greymouth Rapid Relief Team hosted a lunchtime fundraiser in the town square on Saturday, part of a fundraising drive to purchase specialized equipment needed for the NZCC West Coast rescue crew.
The Greymouth community showed tremendous support for the fundraiser and their generous donations and generosity was much appreciated. The community sampled everything the Rapid Relief team had on offer including; coffee, gourmet burgers and hot chips. The spread provided by Rapid Relief to help fundraise for the service was remarkable. Countdown supermarket donated $200 of food towards this fundraiser and their support is also very much appreciated.
The Greymouth crew were very happy to talk to the community about the service and why this specialized equipment is needed. Some of the equipment needed includes; a ventilator, a video laryngoscope to assist and speed up the intubation of patients, a syringe driver for controlled pain relief dose, and a fluid warmer. This equipment will cost over $50,000. All funds gained from this fundraising event will go towards the eventual purchase of this equipment.
The Trust wishes to extend its thanks to the Rapid Relief Team for creating this fundraising event. Secondly to the community for coming out and showing their support.
