Trust CEO, Christine Prince, recently visited the Mt Hutt Methven office, where she was joined by the Methven Lions Club, and presented with two donation cheques for the Rescue Helicopter Service.
The Methven Lions Club fundraised $18,000 at the ‘Discover Mt Hutt – Summer Open Day’ on 2nd March, while the Mt Hutt Ski area team raised $14,000 from season pass sales. The team is now gearing up for the winter ahead, and is committed to continuing its fundraising efforts throughout what promises to be a busy 2019 season.
As everyone present agreed, no one likes to think they may require the services of the rescue helicopter – but it is a comfort to know it is there and available 24/7 if needed. In remote areas, and places where access is difficult, the rescue helicopter service is a lifeline.
The Trust and air rescue crew want to extend their thanks to the Mt Hutt and Methven Lions teams for an outstanding fundraising effort.
