This Chopper Appeal we need your help to raise $205,000 so we can be there if things don’t go as planned.
In 2018 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to nearly 300 accidents out of 650 total missions in the Canterbury and West Coast region. Accidents do happen every day, to anyone, at any time. Chopper country is closer than you think. It isn’t just the rural areas, bush or mountain tops. It’s the places you live, you’ve been, and you love.
For many people the chopper is most well-known for accessing inaccessible places and rescuing people from extreme situations. But what people don’t know is that the rescue helicopter is a safety net for everybody. In our daily lives we can be driving from A to B, gardening at home, taking a walk, and an accident can happen. In January of this year the crew retrieved a patient who had a heart attack in their home in Methven. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is your safety net in those everyday situations.
Please help this appeal so we can all go on living life to the fullest, and have peace of mind knowing the service is here for you every day.
