Sponsorship
Supporting the Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust gives you the perfect opportunity to showcase your brand while supporting a vital community service.
Research shows that New Zealand businesses can substantially increase their brand value perception in the marketplace by supporting charitable organisations.
In an increasingly competitive marketplace, businesses must look for new ways to expose their brand values to their customers, and sponsorship support of a worthwhile charity is an effective way of achieving this.
Understanding Sponsorship
Many business organisations simply do not understand the difference between SPONSORSHIP and DONATIONS. This can easily be seen in the way their involvement is presented and promoted. While many businesses support worthwhile charities under a sponsorship agreement, many do not utilise that partnership enough in their day-to-day marketing activities. The result is that their customers are simply not aware of their support.
A SPONSORSHIP is a business transaction aimed at establishing a mutually beneficial partnership between the two parties involved. In this case, sponsorship funds are often channelled or offset from marketing funds and clear objectives for the sponsors brand exposure are set down and measured against marketing objectives.
Funds given without objectives and measurements in place are called DONATIONS

How does the CWC Air Rescue Trust maximise brand exposure?
We recognise that in today's competitive commercial environment, it is critical to utilise the services of professional business partners who understand how to maximise the effect of media, marketing and brand exposure.
To ensure our sponsors obtain the full benefits of their support, the Trust employs a full-time Marketing and Communications Manager who works alongside one of Christchurch's leading brand development companies.
Yellow Pencil Limited joined our family of sponsors in 2003 and have since given their 25 years of brand, advertising, marketing, design and web experience free of charge to increase the value of the CWC Air Rescue Trust brand and maximise the opportunities available for our sponsors.
What exposure can we offer your brand?
We have a diverse and increasing range of opportunities available to expose your brand to the public. These include:
Aircraft and Vehicle Branding
The CWC Air Rescue Trust aircraft - The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, The Solid Energy Rescue Helicopter and the New Zealand Flying Doctors Cessna's - are among some the most well recognised aircraft flying in our skies today. We have a number of high visibility brand positions still available on each aircraft.
Television News Exposure
Through our sponsors agreement with Televison New Zealand, high profile missions are often featured on Television One News - giving increased exposure to supporting sponsors.
Fundraising Events and Community Activities
As a community-focused service, we have a regular programme of events throughout the year where associated sponsors can leverage exposure for their brand. These include Open Days, Canterbury A & P Show, school visits and more.
Awareness Month
Driven by Westbac Banking Corporation as a nationwide fundraising event, the Awareness month is an annual event which focuses attention on the work of the air rescue services. This is a particularly well supported activity throughout New Zealand which offers the potential for increased brand exposure for all sponsors involved.
Radio Support
Through our sponsorship agreement with More FM in Canterbury and Newstalk ZB on the West Coast, sponsor exposure through radio is also available.
Newspaper Coverage and Mission Reports
Regional newspaper coverage of high exposure rescues also increase the exposure of associated sponsor branding.
Merchandise and Promotional Items
As our own brand exposure has increased, so to has the demand for promotional items and fundraising merchandise. Through the generous support of associated sponsors, material such as posters, apparel and giveaways are made available - each carrying sponsor branding to a wide market.
Website
Our website is professionally managed to offer an up-to-date and fully integrated marketing and networking opportunity for sponsors. The website provides an on-line newsletter as well as operational information, news, competitions, sponsors links and Mission Reports.
Newsletter, Magazine and Direct Mail
Communication of our activities to the general public is one of our primary aims in increasing awareness and enhancing fundraising opportunities. We have been fortunate in securing the sponsored services of leading print company Pope Print Limited which has allowed us to increase our direct mail activity and also expand our monthly supporters newsletter into a substantial twice yearly magazine called "Airwaves" .
This publication is set to grow into a very popular vehicle for sponsors advertising with over 3000 copies being distributed twice yearly.
Operations Base
Our Christchurch and West Coast operations bases are available for sponsors to visit and we strongly encourage businesses to get "up close and personal" with the aircraft, equipment and teams that they are supporting.
